OVERVIEW

Quinolizidine alkaloids (QA) are produced by plants for defense and protection against herbivores. They are synthesized mainly in lupins and due to their nutritional value a valuable component of vegetarian nutritional concepts. In addition to their use in food production, lupins are also used as animal feed, where it has been proven that QA passes into cow's milk and thus into dairy products. Here we present observations made during our method development and screening phases.
